Simply put, CONSUME represents value for your entertainment dollar. Where other bands waste your precious time, energy, and bodily fluids, CONSUME gets straight to the point, with sincere, honest, true, music. Also, we rock. CONSUME
CONSUME is what happens when Brennan Underwood, Justin Frankel, and Christophe Thibault all make an assload of noise while facing in roughly the same direction.

CONSUME is very unique in that nearly all of our jams, rehearsals, and shows are available online, many with video, and audio for all. We archive in multitrack form ALL of our rehearsals.

Everything we tell you is true.

anti-spam for the site
Dang, we get a lotta spam on here. I just upgraded us to the latest hlscript blog software which adds a simple question, "What is two plus two?" Hopefully spambots are too dumb to figure that one out.

p.s. Consuuuuuuuuuume!

some decent, recent, CONSUME jam clips
Well, we sure don't post as much about it here as we perhaps should, but we've been jamming and practicing nonstop. Along the way, we've collected some nice clips:

  • The Tuning Song (9:18): Christophe was tuning up and when Justin and I just started off he came along for the ride. And a sweet ride it was: 9 minutes of groovy ambient rock. Check it out!

    OK, now it gets heavier.

  • Some New Hippy Music (7:09): Despite Justin's titling, this is actually fairly heavy and spooky.

And now for some real powa!

  • The Bastard Freakout (7:39): Umm, choco-covered coffee beans rule. Let's blame them. This actually managed to develop into about 3 sections, and even comes back around to the first riff at the end. Enjoy!

Thus concludes our brief tour into the inner workings of CONSUME's song factory. Be sure to tip the grunka-lunkas on your way out!

one more notch on the big belt o' love
Sorry for the delay (I spilled coffee all over my keyboard) but now we're back on the air. We played the show and had a hell of a good time. But don't take my word for it, watch the video:

  • Flash-based in-browser streamer (hosted on youtube.com)

  • 74 Mb downloadable AVI (Medium quality)

  • 249 Mb downloadable AVI (Higher quality)

Thanks to Newton and Penny for manning the video cams! Sexy edit job by Justin.

Thanks so much for everyone for coming out! You rock SO HARD.

    sneak preview
We had our second-to-last practice last night where we worked out as many kinks as possible before the show. We got a lot of work done and Brennan almost lost his voice, but it was worth it. The recording is here:

051024-brenchr.mp3 (Rehearsal for Oct. 28 show at Cherry Bar in SF) (stream it)

There are some decent versions of the songs in there, if you can wait past the talking, and talking about talking. We have a final rehearsal planned for Wednesday as well, which you'll probably be able to find on the practices page on Thursday.

We also worked out the planned set list.

Hope to see you there! (If you can't make it, we're going to try to videotape the show again. Stay tuned.)

    it's so on
Yes, our October 28th show at the Cherry Bar in SF is totally on. Here's a flyer that Moraga made up for it. Rock on! We're up 3rd of 4 bands, so I think that means we're gonna have to be like 100 to 200% more awesomeo this time around.

    back to work
After months of working on other projects, we're going to start rehearsing and recording again, in preparation for a planned October 28th show, in San Francisco. We should be updating our existing songs, starting and finishing some new ones, and perhaps preparing a few covers to do. Choices choices!

    site updates
We cleaned up the big mess that is this website. more changes should be coming soon, and we hope you find it usefulish.

live DVD and studio song versions coming
We're going to be recording studio versions of our live songs soon, and once it's ready we will be posting them here, and possibly even sell CDs (for a marginal fee).

Additionally, we've put together a DVD of our live show, which is simply a higher quality version of the AVI on the Videos page. We may be selling those for a marginal fee as well.
